Need a Web site? Need a digital projector? Want personalized tutoring on a software package? Need an event video recorded and posted online?
The Innovative Learning Center provides all these services and much, much more. We offer a variety of technology equipment and services to support the academic goals of Tulane faculty and staff. For more information on any of the services listed below, please contact Ruth Peacock at (504) 862-8594.
- Learning Tools
- myTulane Learning and Community System
- Technology Training and Faculty Symposia
Technology Services and the Innnovative Learning Center offer training sessions on current technology on topics ranging from myTulane to Microsoft Office. We also host the Tulane Faculty Symposium on Digital Trends series.
- Technology-Enabled Classroom Support
Technology Enabled Classroom Support is provided to all faculty teaching in general pool classrooms. Departmental classrooms are supported by the responsible department.
- Classroom Equipment Lending
Equipment Lending/Rental is available to all faculty, free of charge, for use in regularly scheduled courses meeting in classrooms on the Uptown campus. All non-course related uses are charged an hourly or daily rate. Equipment lending/rental services are not available to students or student organizations.
- Videoconferencing Services
Videoconferencing services are available in Room 101 of the Telecommunication Building. The classroom seats 18 and can be configured for presentations, lectures or meetings.
- Satellite Downlinking
Satellite Downlinking can support reception of C-band and ku-band broadcasts and downlinked programming can be viewed on any television connected to the Tulane cable TV system (TUCAN).
- Media Lab
Technology Services operates media labs at multiple locations on the Uptown campus. Each media lab is different, but in general they all support a variety of digital audio, video, and graphic creation tools. Some labs also offer production tools such as cameras, mics, recorders and scanners for check out or use within the lab. Hours and services vary from lab to lab.
- Digital Media/Video Production
Digital media production and editing services include visual and audio production, editing, duplication, and Web distribution.

- Equipment Consultation & Facility Design
Technology Consultation services are available to assist in the physical space design, integration and purchase of digital media and technologies for teaching and learning.
- Online Survey Tools
Flashlight Online is a web-based survey tool for creating surveys, gathering responses, and analyzing data. It is a particularly useful in exporting results into Excel or any statistical software package.
The Innovative Learning Center, in cooperation with the School of Medicine, has purchased a professional subscription for SurveyMonkey, a web-based survey creation tool that allows users to select from over a dozen type of questions, such as multiple choice, rating scales, open-ended, essay and more. The tool also offers skip logic and randomization of answer choices.

Web application and multimedia consulting is available by project only, on a first come, first served basis. Among the types of projects we support are: Web site creation, database creation, scanning and CD-ROM development. If you'd like to discuss your Web or multimedia application ideas, please write to us at ilc@tulane.edu.
- Automated Test Scoring
Academic Technology Support Services has purchased an NCS Insight 4 optical scanner for scanning tests and evaluations. We provide scanning for tests that use the P099b and 4521 for answer sheets with a two business day turnaround time. Evaluation scanning is self-service, with staff available to assist in training and troubleshooting during business hours. For more information, contact info@tulane.edu.
