Current Projects: Digital Initiatives at Tulane (DIGIT)
Digital Initiatives at Tulane is a collaborative effort among individuals across campus seeking to preserve, distribute and manage visual assets in an online environment. Francine Stock, Visual Resources Curator in the School of Architecture, was awarded a grant from the Graham Foundation to purchase Luna Insight as a first step in the creation of the New Orleans Virtual Archive, a digital collection of images of the city and plans for renewal.
Technology Services agreed to partner with the School of Architecture and to allocate budget resources to expand services to the university community.
While many visual image collections are priceless and could not be replaced if lost, stolen or destroyed, DIGIT members have estimated that once they digitize their collections, they will have provided a means to protect over $23 million in assets. Web Sitehttp://digit.ts.tulane.edu/
