Tulane's Cypress supercomputer now ranks as one of the top 500 fastest computers in the world.

Twice per year the TOP 500 organization ranks 500 of the fastest computers worldwide, coinciding with the International Supercomputing Conference in Germany and the Supercomputing Conference held here in the United States. On November 18 the official list will be announced at Supercomputing14 being held right here in New Orleans.

Tulane’s Cypress high performance computer (HPC) came in at number 271 - that’s the 271st fastest computer in the world - right here in NOLA, right here at Tulane. See Cypress' ranking and the Top 500 list here: http://www.top500.org/system/178475
